My Style

I believe that people are most comfortable and natural in their own environment, and because of that all of my sessions are booked on location. This allows you the freedom to be yourself and express your own family’s individual style and personality. A local park, a flower filled field, or your home, are just some examples of locations that can add that special something and individuality to your session and make it even that more meaningful. Please note that all sessions are done with natural light. I want my photographs to tell your story. As a result, my style tends to be photojournalistic. I don’t look for that perfect smile or awkward pose; instead I look for the moments, emotions, and interactions. I try to capture the way 2 people look at each other, the look of joy on a child’s face, the intimate moments between parent and child. Those are life’s cherished moments.

Your Session – what to expect.
My sessions are laid back, relaxed, and casual. I want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and having fun. That’s why you will see me get right down on the floor with the kids to play and interact together. I will take their lead as I watch for spontaneous moments to capture them being natural and true. I will never rush through a session. Typically a session can last between 1-3 hours allowing for snack breaks, feedings, diaper changes, or clothing changes etc. Sessions are booked only on weekends. If your child is sick, call me and we can reschedule, as I want your child to be at their best.
Maternity sessions are recommended between 32-36 weeks – just far enough along to show those gorgeous mama curves, but not to far along to be uncomfortable. Form fitting tanks, button down shirts, pre-pregnancy jeans are ideas of clothing options. Basically, anything that you are comfortable in and that shows off your belly will do. I would recommend not wearing anything too tight in the hours prior to the session to prevent lines form appearing on the belly.
Newborns sessions should be done within 2-3 weeks of life. It is suggested that you schedule your session while you are still pregnant to ensure that the session will be done during those weeks of life.
Approximately 3 weeks after your session, I will send you a link to an online gallery that will remain active for 30 days.
The gallery presented will typically have 20-30 images to select from.
This link can also be shared with family and friends.
Simply send me an email with the images and sizes desired.
Full payment is due at time of ordering.
Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of prints.
